Artificial Intelligence holds immense importance in today’s rapidly advancing technological landscape, influencing nearly every facet of our personal and professional lives. In this context, understanding AI and its implications becomes essential for individuals, the private sector and governments. It empowers them to be able to engage with AI and AI-using technology in an informed manner, understanding the opportunities it creates while remaining aware of its limitations. This understanding is crucial for all stakeholders, including international civil servants and diplomats, in order for them to be able to create the international and national frameworks and regulations required to ensure AI is applied ethically.

Contenu et structure

Join UNITAR and fellow decision-makers from Permanent Missions in Geneva to gain a better understanding of the potential of generative AI and how it is impacting diplomatic work. The training will also consider current governance frameworks and ethics considerations.

Méthodologie

The training activity consists of a 2-hour briefing session taking place in a face-to-face format in Geneva, Switzerland. The proposed training programme will be conducted in English.

UNITAR trainings are designed to be highly interactive and participatory. The briefing will utilize a variety of pedagogical tools to enable participants to acquire a thorough knowledge and understanding of the substantive issues at hand.

By applying to the Training on Generative Artificial Intelligence, all participants confirm that they are aware that the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) does not insure participants for this training. All participants are advised to arrange at their own expense insurance against sickness, accident, permanent or temporary disability, death and third party risk for the period of the activity, including travel time.
