Considering the frequency of natural disasters, man-made accidents, and violent crime in people’s daily life, CIFAL Bangkok collaborates with experienced security professionals and deliverers from the Human Development Forum Foundation (HDFF) in order to provide a specialized Stay Safe Training for “Sustainable Leadership in Crisis”. This initiative aims to increase participants' awareness and adeptness in handling crisis situations prevalent in business operations as well as in daily life. The training adheres closely to international regulations and takes into consideration best practices. Focus points are situational awareness, risk mapping, and developing risk mitigation strategies tailored for leaders facing various crisis scenarios.

The objectives of this training course are to actively contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals 3, 5, 11, 16, and 17. It directly contributes to Target 3.6 to “halve the number of global deaths and injuries from road traffic accidents” and Target 11.5 “significantly reduce the number of deaths and people affected by disasters”. Meanwhile, it also aims to significantly reduce mortality rates resulting from violence, including casualties from international homicide and conflict-related incidents per 100,000 individuals categorized by sex and age groups, as well as the population exposed to physical and psychological violence, aligning with the targets outlined in SDG 16.1.1, 16.1.2, and 16.1.3. By fostering increased security awareness and subsequently effective risk management, Stay Safe Training “Leadership in Crisis Situations” will contribute to a more serene world.

At the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Increase the understanding of a proactive security attitude and the importance of situational awareness as well as related risk assessments.
  • Provide leaders with helpful tools and techniques needed to avoid or cope adequately endangering or potentially dangerous situations.

The training program lasts four days, with eight hours of face-to-face courses each day. The program is composed of comprehensive modules designed to equip participants with crucial skills and knowledge necessary for effectively coping with crisis situations.

Module 1: Situational Awareness

Module 2: First Aid Skills

Module 3: Risk assessment and related mitigation measures

Module 4: Psychological First Aid and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

SST “Sustainable Leadership in Crisis” will be conducted offline with a combination of diverse learning methodologies, including professional sessions and interactive sessions by experienced and culturally sensitive trainers taking into consideration a high level of participatory activities.

The interactive nature of the training ensures that participants not only understand theoretical concepts but also develop the necessary skills and confidence to effectively navigate and respond to challenges in crisis situations.

The course is designed for leaders of businesses, corporate affiliates,  government, academic as well as UN personnel.

Lead Trainer: Dr. Wilfried A. Herrmann, Board Director at Human Development Forum Foundation
