Background

In 2006, the University of Malaga, through the Postgraduate Studies in Counseling and Intervention in Emergencies, Emergencies, and Catastrophes, began to hold an annual conference on multidisciplinary issues in the field of emergencies and disasters. Each year they have been consolidating and growing to become a traditional event for researchers, professionals, and people interested in this field. This edition is organized by the Strategic Chair of Security, Emergencies and Catastrophes and the IMECH Research Institute.  This activity is conducted based on the collaboration agreement with the Ministry of Defense UNITAR-ONU, Cifal Malaga, the Provincial Consortium of Firefighters, and agreements established with different organizations and entities. The backbone of this edition is anthropic risks. As defined by the General Directorate of Civil Protection and Emergencies: they are risks caused by human action and its effects on nature, pollution caused in water, air, soil, deforestation, and fires, among others. They are caused by the very presence of man and his social behavior or intentional will to cause damage.
